Two witnesses see a light in a fog surrounding a cemetery. They encounter a hovering object; the vehicle dies out, and they are paralyzed.
Two persons observed deep fog in the vicinity of a cemetery and saw a light in the center, coming from an object hovering 100 meters above ground. Thinking it was a fire, the witnesses stopped. Paralysis and ignition interference were then noted while the object, about 13 meters in diameter, oscillated and then departed with a whirring sound. It took about 20 minutes for the witnesses to recover muscular coordination. An object was observed. It departed by rapidly flying straight up until lost to sight. Electromagnetic, gravity and physiological effects were noted. One white ball, about 40 feet across, around 500 feet away, was observed in foggy weather by two witnesses, a married couple, at a cemetery for four minutes. A humming sound was heard.
Hynek quotes the driver:
"Nothing I have ever seen compares with the object" … He turned the car around again and put his windows down and drove off the road broadside to the cemetery and to the light . . . . He got out of the car, shut the door and started to point to the object. Simultaneously several events occurred: the automobile lights, radio, and engine ceased functioning; he felt an electrical shock, and his body became numb and immobilized; the arm he was pointing with was pulled against the roof of the car and hit with such force that it left an imprint in the ice and snow. . . . Mr. W. could not move a muscle, although he could hear and his mind seemed to be functioning normally. Then the lights and radio came back on, and the object which had been rocking back and forth emitted a humming sound and accelerated upward and out of sight above the fog patch.
