A luminous object, 20 meters diameter, was seen landed on the ground.
R. Petijean saw a luminous object, 20 meters diameter, on the ground. It gave off bluish flashes as it took off, leaving a smell of burning sulfur. Approximate date. An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One blue ball, about 80 feet across, was observed by one witness (Petitjean). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area.
