Object, flat on the bottom, rounded on top. Explanation: Aircraft.
John Cox, a Methodist minister, was driving on Route 185 near Coffeen when he saw an object, flat on the bottom, rounded on top, cross the road silently 100 meters away, at low speed. Length, 20 m; height, three meters. An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One ball, about 80 feet across, was observed by a male witness on a highway for 20 minutes (John Cox). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area.
