Reddish-white round object or light, similar to satellite. Explanation: Meteor.
(PST). AEW&C Squadron aircraft commander Capt. H. J. Savoy and navigator First Lieutenant M. W. Rand, on USAF RC-121D radar patrol plane at 11,000 feet saw reddish-white round object or light, similar to satellite or aircraft, angular size of pinhead at arm's length, moving west to east, tracked through sextant from 29°55' elevation 140° azimuth, disappearing at the horizon at 50° azimuth. No sound, no trail, weather clear, check for Echo satellite negative. An unidentified object was sighted, but with appearance and behavior that most likely would have a conventional explanation.One red ball was observed by two experienced male military witnesses and sextant on the ocean for eight minutes. No sound was heard.
