A black, bell shaped object bearing two bright, white lights at the top and measuring 15 meters in diameter was chased by Sheetz and another civilian in a car until the engine stalled. The object was then hovering three meters away. The underside of the machine resembled a disk with fins. When a jet aircraft took off from the airfield, the object went out of sight almost instantaneously. The car battery was found completely dead. There was no helicopter in the area, although the two witnesses compared the noise made by the object to that of a helicopter.

One black saucer, about 80 feet across, about ten feet away, was observed by four witnesses two of them independent at an airfield for 40 minutes (Sheetz). A copter-like sound was heard.
