USAF incident. Golden brown round object flying at 1,500 knots. Explanation: Balloon.

Two USAF pilots flying F-86D interceptors saw a golden brown round object flying at 1,700 mph, strong interference on airborne radar.


A flying disc was tracked by radar and sighted visually. Electromagnetic effects were noted.

One brown ball, about 300 feet across, was observed by two experienced male military witnesses and radar in a warplane for three to seven minutes.


Hynek rating: RV: Radar-Visual UFO reports
Vallee rating: MA2: MA1 plus any physical effects caused by the UFO.
Vallee reliability rating: 433: Firsthand personal interview with the witness by a source of proven reliability; site visit by a reliable investigator with some experience; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
