Bright disc with a clear dome
Mrs. R. S. Pope saw a bright disc with a clear dome fly vertically, then N. A very cold breeze seemed to emanate from the object. An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One saucer, about 2 feet across, was observed by one witness for three minutes (Pope, R S). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area. Vallee reliability rating: 333: Reliable source, firsthand; site visit by a reliable investigator with some experience; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
