USN incident. Highly polished sphere, with reddish-brown coloring
USN Cdr. J. L. Ingersoll saw a highly polished sphere, with reddish-brown coloring, fall, then instantly accelerate to 1,000-1,500 mph. An unidentified object was sighted, that had an unusual appearance or performance. One red-brown star was observed by one military witness at a military facility (Ingersoll, J L). Hynek rating: DD: Daylight Discs Vallee rating: FB1: A simple sighting of a UFO traveling in a straight line across the sky. Vallee reliability rating: 342: Reliable source, firsthand; site visit by a skilled analyst; natural explanation requires major alteration of one parameter.
