ATC incident. Brilliant silver or white object with short stubby wings. Explanation: Aircraft.
Four civilians and a number of military personnel saw a brilliant silver or white object with short stubby wings approach from the south, circle over Mobile, then depart to the northeast . Radar contact at 6:30 p.m. with stationary 8-mile object at 55 miles at 60° azimuth is evidently unrelated anomalous propagation. An object was tracked by radar and sighted visually.One silver fuselage-shaped object was observed in partly cloudy weather by over six military witnesses at an airfield for over 60 minutes. No sound was heard.
