Very bright amber glow, stationary then climbing slowly. Explanation: Aircraft.

Pilot of National Airlines Flight 42, a C-60 aircraft, saw a very bright amber glow, stationary then climbing slowly till disappearance.


A green fireball was observed.

One green star was observed by one witness at a military facility for two minutes.

Ruppelt's account:

On July 10 the crew of a National Airlines plane reported a light "too bright to be a lighted balloon and too slow to be a big meteor" while they were flying south at 2,000 feet near Quantico, Virginia, just south of Washington.
