US C-46 incident. 30-40 feet cream color disc-shaped object. Explanation: Balloon.

USAF C-46 crew (pilot and copilot) flying east between Shreveport and Barksdale AFB, Louisiana at 90° heading at 9,000 feet saw a 30-40 feet cream color disc-shaped object ahead of the plane at about 4,000 feet, object reversed course heading east (but was overtaken by C-46 and passed under it ??), C-46 and object both (?) made 360° turns, object climbing into clouds at 12,000 feet at 200-400 mph. Similar sighting at 2:45 p.m. by another C-46 five to six miles north of Barksdale AFB of an object disappearing on a north heading at 11,000 feet. (BB Status Rpt 6; cf. NARCAP)


An unidentified object was sighted, that had an unusual appearance or performance.

One saucer, about 40 feet across, was observed by two military witnesses at a military facility for 16 minutes.
