Pilot saw high speed white oval disc about twice size of his plane
1st Lieutenant George H. Kinmon, Jr, 160th Tactical Recon Wing, Lawson AFB, Columbus, Georgia, was flying an F-51 fighter at 250-270 mph, at 8,000-8,500 feet, on heading 247°. He saw a high speed, white oval disc, about twice size of his plane in a head-on collision course, coming from the direction of the sun. It suddenly dived underneath, narrowly missing his plane. He turned to pursue, but couldn't find object. 15 seconds later the object made another head-on dive at him, and repeated it several times. On the last pass it climbed upward, out of sight. (Conflicting account to AFOSI states after first dive, object continued to barrel-roll around the plane for ten minutes, then disappeared under the plane. Pilot stated the object was 300 to 400 feet from his plane and appeared to be 10 -15 feet in diameter.) The object was flat on the top and bottom, white colored but not aluminum. Front aspect showed rounded edges slightly beveled, and small crater-like spots. In top aspect as it dived, the object appeared round and spinning clockwise. The object made no vapor trails or exhaust and had no visible system of propulsion. It was described as traveling at tremendous speed. The pilot compared its speed to that of a jet plane. The object's turbulent wake "bumped" the F-51 when the object passed under plane. The object left the plane a few miles south of Milledgeville, and 15-20 miles from Macon. A flying disc was observed. One white saucer, about 20 feet across, was observed by one experienced male military witness in a warplane for ten minutes.
