Twelve AEC Atomic Energy Security Service (AESS) inspectors saw a cylinder with tapered ends, silver and flashing, fly slow then fast, flutter and oscillate, change course. AFOSI Summary: Time: 1545 1555; Number of Observers: 12; Reliability: good; Area: Los Alamos, New Mexico; Direction: heading toward ground; Altitude: 30° - 35° above horizon; Color: flashing silver; Train: none; Duration: three seconds to two minutes; Sound: none; Shape: circular like plane fuselage; Size: small airplane; Speed: from very slow to very fast. One ball was observed by 12 witnesses for three seconds.
