March AFB, California, USA
Tumbling, red and grey wingtip-tank-shaped object. Explanation: Debris.
Air National Guard Lieutenants. Reeser and Salter, pilots in a T-6 heading southeast over March AFB's radio beacon at 7,000 feet, first saw about 1,000 feet below them for four to five seconds a tumbling red and grey wingtip-tank-shaped object, smaller than a T-6, and then four white domed-disc parachute-shaped objects separated by about 1,000 feet each. They circled around and copilot saw the four white parachute shapes, no shroud lines, etc, and climbed to 9,000 feet for a better look but the objects disappeared to the east. One red-grey star was observed by two witnesses (Reeser, Salter).
