Army Lieutenant Frederick Davis on patrol saw a reddish white ball of fire pass horizontally over the base airstrip, and noted interference on the field telephone afterward when he reported it. A meteor-like object was observed. One red ball was observed by one witness for under ten minutes (Frederick Davis).
