An oval luminous object "rolling" vertically on its edge. Explanation: EM.
Mrs. Catherine MacDonald and Mrs. Margaret Hollar saw an oval luminous object "rolling" vertically on its edge in level flight at about 5,000 feet, below the clouds, with a short trail (about 1/2 length of object), in the southwest moving southwest to northeast (to the south of witnesses). Two similar objects seen at 5-min intervals, the second seeming transparent as lightning could be seen flashing behind it. Police were then called so second/third objects were seen by police Sergeant Charles Schulz and Mrs. MacDonald's daughter Catherine. Another neighbor woman and her daughter were brought out, when a third object was seen, height estimated 6,000-9,000 feet, same southwest to northeast path. Unidentified objects were sighted, that had an unusual appearance or performance. Three luminous oval objects were observed by six witnesses in a residential area for one to five minutes (Catherine MacDonald; Margaret Hollar).
