USAF incident. Explanation: Balloon.
F-94 Starfire jet sent to intercept unknown craft, crashed. Crew ejected by jet crash killed four civilians. Investigation: no in-flight fire. Sudden rise of cockpit temp forced crew to eject. Physiological effects were reported. A witness later died. One disc was observed in overcast weather by two experienced male military witnesses in a warplane for 20 minutes (Atkins, W; Coudo). Hynek rating: CE2: Close Encounters of the Second Kind Vallee rating: CE5: CE4 which results in permanent psychological injuries or death.
