Red fireball flew parallel to ground, speed 15 m/sec, no wake or trail, silent. Dove into slope of mountain (611m) then jumped up-down 6x. Very bright light for one hour, then took off. Traces: singed.
An object was observed. Metallic traces found. One red fireball, about 5 feet across, was observed by several hundred witnesses on a hill for over 60 minutes. No sound was heard. Hynek rating: CE2: Close Encounters of the Second Kind Vallee rating: MA2: MA1 plus any physical effects caused by the UFO. Vallee reliability rating: 441: Firsthand personal interview with the witness by a source of proven reliability; site visit by a skilled analyst; natural explanation requires only slight modification of the data.
