8 March 1954 : Laredo AFB, Texas, USA 
Pilot incident.
Disc flies over AFB heading to the east. Pilot reports glowing red object moving at high speed; it tilts to vertical position, shoots straight up. An object was observed. It departed by rapidly flying straight up until lost to sight. One red disc was observed by a male military witness at an airfield for over three minutes.
