Two cops see 160 feet diameter disc glowing at low altitude. Light plane circles above disc. Disc rapidly to the west.
An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One luminous disc, about 150 feet across, was observed by two male witnesses (as reported to the police) at a mountain for two minutes (Gilmore). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area.
