USAF Transport Hastings incident.
Cylinder flew south to north, left flaming trail, seen over a 200 mile distance. High quality observers. An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One cylinder was observed by two experienced male military witnesses on the shore briefly (Cook; Smith). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: FB1: A simple sighting of a UFO traveling in a straight line across the sky.
