In October 1947 18:00 Us Hwy66, New Mexico, USA 
15m x 6m object flies to the west over car, turns to the north, returns, hovers over car at 6m altitude. Rises vertically, rapidly to the west.
An object was observed. It departed by rapidly flying straight up until lost to sight. One oblong object, about 80 feet across, about twenty feet away, was observed for eight minutes. Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area.
