In early June 1980 15:00 Hopsten N, Germany 
USAF F-111E incident.
Fighter pilot and weapons officer saw UFO, shaped like aircraft drop tank, 30-40 feet long, silver, passed 50 feet from fighter as pilot made evasive maneuvers. No radar contact. An object was observed. It buzzed a witness. One silver cigar-shaped object, about 40 feet across, was observed by two experienced male military witnesses in a warplane. Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area.
