Shiny metallic oval with lights, hovered, brightened, took off like a "shot out of a rifle", left white trail; stopped abruptly, maneuvered, shot straight up.
An object was observed. It departed by rapidly flying straight up until lost to sight. One metallic oval object was observed. Hynek rating: NL: Nocturnal Lights Vallee rating: MA1: A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, maneuvers or loops.
