Private Pilot incident.
Private pilot encountered cone-shaped object, "singing" noise. Object descended, followed aircraft, accelerated up and away. An unusual object was sighted, that had unconventional appearance and aerobatic performance. One cone-shaped object, about 300 feet across, was observed in clear weather by one experienced male witness for over 17 minutes (O'Connor, J). A singing sound was heard. Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: MA1: A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, maneuvers or loops.
