USAF incident. Explanation: Mirage.
F-89 scrambled, pursues UFO over Lake Michigan, Upper Pennisula. Radar blips of UFO and jet merge into one, jet disappears, UFO flies away. Extensive search and rescue finds no trace of aircraft . Reported encounter with inhuman beings involving teleportation. One ball was observed in stormy weather by more than two male military witnesses, typical age 26, at a military facility for nine minutes (Kodiak; Moncla). Hynek rating: CE2: Close Encounters of the Second Kind Vallee rating: CE5: CE4 which results in permanent psychological injuries or death. Vallee reliability rating: 443: Firsthand personal interview with the witness by a source of proven reliability; site visit by a skilled analyst; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
