Nautical UFO. 200-300 feet above sea, site of SS Docteur Angier wreck. Blue ring when overhead, black in center, basketball at arms length, slowed, rose vertically through cloud layer at 2000'
An object was observed. It departed by rapidly flying straight up until lost to sight. One blue elliptical was observed in cloudy weather by two male witnesses, typical age 30, on the ocean for a few minutes. No sound was heard. Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area. Vallee reliability rating: 332: Reliable source, firsthand; site visit by a reliable investigator with some experience; natural explanation requires major alteration of one parameter.
