Crew incident.
Translucent eliptical heel-shaped UFO, radar picked up 5 miles ahead, object dove below F-61, flat bottom, curved front, cut off tail, reappeared, took off burst of speed. An object was tracked by radar and sighted visually. One translucent elliptical, about 40 feet across, was observed in clear weather by two experienced male military witnesses in a warplane for ten minutes (Halter; Hemphill). Hynek rating: RV: Radar-Visual UFO reports Vallee rating: MA2: MA1 plus any physical effects caused by the UFO. Vallee reliability rating: 444: Firsthand personal interview with the witness by a source of proven reliability; site visit by a skilled analyst; no natural explanation possible, given the evidence.
