Driving east on highway 18 in roofing truck. 5 miles past I-85, saw object - thought was jet - falling, stop mid-air near ground, then move south "in flash" and upward at steep angle (45 degrees). Sighting 10-15 seconds.
An unusual object was sighted, that had unconventional appearance and performance. One gray elliptical, around 1500 feet away, was observed in clear weather by two male witnesses, typical age 38, in a rural area for six seconds. No sound was heard. Hynek rating: DD: Daylight Discs Vallee rating: MA1: A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, maneuvers or loops.
