Date: summer 1980 or 1981. Colored lights seen as witness and two daughters left dept. store.Silver disc, rotating, flashing red and orange lights on or near rim.
An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One multi-colored domed disc, around 300 feet away, was observed in clear weather by one female 18-year-old witness in the suburbs for over 15 minutes. Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area. Vallee reliability rating: 143: Report attributed to a known source of unknown or uncalibrated reliability; site visit by a skilled analyst; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
