15 March 1992 Around 1200 Gassaway, West Virginia, USA 
Silent domed disc drops from clouds, dives down, possibly into the Blue Hole depression in the Birch River. No ground marks.
An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One silver domed disc was observed in overcast weather by one male 48-year-old witness on a farm for over one minute (Sykes). No sound was heard. Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area.
