Nautical UFO. Teenage couple stroll on beach, see 4' long unlit cigar-shaped UFO drift toward ocean, 50m altitude. Silent. Dropped into water without splash. On surface yellow light from upper part.
An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One dark cigar-shaped object, about 5 feet across, was observed by two witnesses, typical age 18, on the shore for ten minutes (Smith). No sound was heard. Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area. Vallee reliability rating: 333: Reliable source, firsthand; site visit by a reliable investigator with some experience; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
