Pan Am flight 257 dives to avoid glowing ovoid object going to the west. Seen from 7 aircraft. An object was observed. It buzzed a witness. Multiple independent witnesses. One luminous ovoid object was observed in clear weather by over 8 male witnesses, two of them experienced observors, on the ocean (Brosdal; Perry; Wyland). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area. Vallee reliability rating: 303: Reliable source, firsthand; no site visit, or answer unknown; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
