Pilot incident. Explanation: Rocket.
Jellyfish shaped light emitted clusters of beams of light, halted over town, bathed town in mass of extremely fine beams. Changed shape. Red center, white on edges. Went in direction of Lake Onega. An unusual object was sighted, that had unconventional appearance and performance. One fiery shifting-shape object, about 300 feet across, was observed in cloudy weather by numerous witnesses in a city for over 12 minutes (Akimov; Azhazha; Krata; Lazarev, G; Linnik; Novozhilov; Shvalyov). Hynek rating: NL: Nocturnal Lights Vallee rating: MA1: A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, maneuvers or loops. Vallee reliability rating: 444: Firsthand personal interview with the witness by a source of proven reliability; site visit by a skilled analyst; no natural explanation possible, given the evidence.
