Army helicopter landed at Stafford Field before 8 p.m. but CE1 of silent craft would not be noisy chopper.
An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One disc, about 10 feet across, about fifty feet away, was observed by more than one male witness at an airport (Nichols). No sound was heard. Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area.
