3 July 1973 Around 2100 Excelsior Springs, Missouri, USA 
Light in southeast sky, like huge star, moved, faded in and out. Moved up-down, left-right, watched until 1:30 a.m. Had blue glow around it.
An unusual object was sighted, that had unconventional appearance and aerobatic performance. One blue light was observed by two female witnesses in a residential area for 270 minutes (Swearingin, M). Hynek rating: NL: Nocturnal Lights Vallee rating: MA1: A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, maneuvers or loops.
