2 February 1968 Morning Auckland, New Zealand 
Death. Sheep rancher and son in pasture, high-pitched sound. Domed disc, round with turret on top hovered, landed three prong landing gear. Bright light hit father, killed, flesh torn from skull. 60 feet circle. Explanation: Hoax.
Occupants of the craft were seen. Ground traces were found. A witness later died. One domed disc, about 80 feet across, was observed by two male witnesses, typical age 39, on a farm for two minutes. A humming sound was heard. Hynek rating: CE2: Close Encounters of the Second Kind Vallee rating: CE5: CE4 which results in permanent psychological injuries or death.
