SAS 310 incident.
Multiple radar/visual confirmation. Swissair 798, clear sky, 31,000 feet altitude. Flashes of light only, target followed by radar three miles by ground (Maastrich) and on board. Flew Mach 4-5. Objects were tracked by multiple radars and sighted visually. More than one multi-colored V-shaped object, about 300 feet across, were observed in clear weather by three male witnesses, typical age 28, in-flight for over 12 minutes (Scherrer; Schmid). No sound was heard. Hynek rating: RV: Radar-Visual UFO reports Vallee rating: MA2: MA1 plus any physical effects caused by the UFO. Vallee reliability rating: 432: Firsthand personal interview with the witness by a source of proven reliability; site visit by a reliable investigator with some experience; natural explanation requires major alteration of one parameter.
