Nocturnal lights, first seen one km away, closest approach 70m, when UFO took off suddenly. Red rotating central light, flashing and intense, two smaller green lights separated by 20m. Raining hard at time.
An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One multi-colored light, about 80 feet across, was observed in rainy weather by two witnesses, a married couple, on a road for 12 seconds (Sanchez). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area. Vallee reliability rating: 233: Reliable source,secondhand; site visit by a reliable investigator with some experience; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
