Three independent witnesses see object come to ground. Red globe 2.5 m. diameter, metallic and very bright. When one witness approached to 100 m. away object took off. Explanation: Hoax.
An object was sighted that had an appearance and performance beyond the capability of known earthly aircraft. One red ball, about 10 feet across, around 300 feet away, was observed by three male witnesses, typical age 23, on a railroad for over three minutes (Galarraga). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area. Vallee reliability rating: 222: Reliable source,secondhand; site visited by persons familiar with the phenomena; natural explanation requires major alteration of one parameter.
