USAF F-94 incident. Explanation: Mirage.
Three F-84s scrambled to intercept radar target at 23,000'. Solid returns on both ground and airborne radars. one jet approached to 200m, but pulled up for fear of collision. No radar malfunctions found. An object was tracked by multiple radars. One object was observed by several male experienced military witnesses at an airfield for a few seconds (Garret). Hynek rating: RR: Radar UFO reports Vallee rating: MA2: MA1 plus any physical effects caused by the UFO. Vallee reliability rating: 443: Firsthand personal interview with the witness by a source of proven reliability; site visit by a skilled analyst; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
