Ex-WRAF observer. Object looked like rod of brilliant gold. Nose of object appeared to have a flame shooting from it as it ploughed through sky. Went from sight behinds woods. Not a plane.
A cigar-shaped object was observed. One gold oblong object was observed by one female witness in the woods for a few seconds (Matthews, V).
Hynek rating: NL: Nocturnal Lights
Vallee rating: FB1: A simple sighting of a UFO traveling in a straight line across the sky.
Vallee reliability rating: 301: Reliable source, firsthand; no site visit, or answer unknown; natural explanation requires only slight modification of the data.
