Ground radar and German pilot. 100m long cigar 15m diameter, hovered, shot straight up at impossible speed.
A hovering object was tracked by radar and sighted visually. It departed by rapidly flying straight up until lost to sight. One cigar-shaped object, about 300 feet across, was observed by one witness for five minutes (Fischer).
