Varig C-46 Pilot/Crew incident.
Red light on left grew rapidly. Pilot started left turn to investigate, UFO jumped 45 degree arc in sky. right generator and radio burnt out all at once, smell noted in cabin. In fear, pilot turned back. An object was observed. Electromagnetic effects were noted. One red light was observed in undercast weather by two experienced male witnesses in-flight for ten minutes (De Beyssac, J V). Hynek rating: CE2: Close Encounters of the Second Kind Vallee rating: MA2: MA1 plus any physical effects caused by the UFO. Vallee reliability rating: 322: Reliable source, firsthand; site visited by persons familiar with the phenomena; natural explanation requires major alteration of one parameter.
