In December 1951 21:00 Red Springs, North Carolina, USA 
12-yr-old male, 17-yr-old female, and father saw domed disc come out of sky. Stopped 300 yards away, 6' up, lighted window showed man inside, hovered 10 min, shot of like lightning bolt.
An object was observed. Occupants of the craft were seen. One dark domed disc, about 40 feet across, around 1500 feet away, was observed by three witnesses at a house for ten minutes (Coley; Ware). A purring sound was heard. One humanoid was seen. Hynek rating: CE3: Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Entity reports) Vallee rating: CE3: Entities have been observed on the UFO. Vallee reliability rating: 313: Reliable source, firsthand; site visit by a casual person not familiar with the phenomena; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
