USN R5D incident.

Four engine Super-Constellation R5D Navy transport, speed 200 kn. plane at 10000', UFO ascended from water surface, 1500mph white with red-purple around rim, paced 100 feet below, 250 feet ahead.


An object was observed from a car.

One white disc, around 300 feet away, was observed by more than four male military witnesses, one of them an experienced observor, on the ocean for ten minutes.


Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind
Vallee rating: MA1: A UFO has been observed which travels in a discontinuous trajectory. i.e. vertical drops, maneuvers or loops.
Vallee reliability rating: 434: Firsthand personal interview with the witness by a source of proven reliability; site visit by a reliable investigator with some experience; no natural explanation possible, given the evidence.
