Instrumented observation. UFOs seen twice near Skyhook balloon, 1) at 0930 following launch, 2) at 1100 from Artesia Airport for 40 seconds.
Objects were observed using optical instruments. Two white round objects, about 80 feet across, were observed by four military witnesses at an airport for 42 seconds (Dugan; Hazel; Stiles, Raymond). Hynek rating: CE1: Close Encounters of the First Kind Vallee rating: CE1: UFO comes within 500 feet of the witness, but no after effects are suffered by the witness or the surrounding area. Vallee reliability rating: 333: Reliable source, firsthand; site visit by a reliable investigator with some experience; natural explanation requires major alteration of several parameters.
