5 October 1980 Night Ta Kang, China 
Reddish cone with intense bluish-green electric arc glow, whistled as it flew over party of sailors off Ta-Kang, northern China coast. Felt heat from object.
An unidentified object was sighted, but with appearance and behavior that most likely would have a conventional explanation. One red cone-shaped object was observed by a group of male military witnesses, typical age 31, on the shore for 12 seconds (Hung). A whistling sound was heard.
