Intense white light hovered over Marlborough Sounds, radiating lights like effect produced by magnet and iron filings. Apparent size larger than full moon. Moved away rapidly to the east. Viewed with binoculars.
A hovering object was observed. One white light, twice the size of the moon, was observed by one male witness on the ocean for 48 seconds (Harsant; Heaven; Prescott; Wilkie). No sound was heard.
