3 August 1909 Daytime Kaikoura, New Zealand 
Gray torpedo UFO carried three men, one spoke a foreign language. Machine carried two lights, seemed under perfect control.
An object was observed. Occupants of the craft were seen. One gray torpedo-shaped object was observed by one experienced male witness. Three humanoids were seen. Hynek rating: CE3: Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Entity reports) Vallee rating: FB3: A fly-by where entities are observed on board (rare).
